The track provides a great opportunity to work on sprints and pacing in a controlled environment. This high performance group warmed up quickly after the warm-up laps and drills including the butt kickers and 50 yard sprints. As the main portion of the training session began, our quiet track time was interrupted by two soccer teams. We were able to finish our set of 200 meter sprints and wrap up our cool-down before the whistle blew for the start of the soccer game. Next week, same place just a different set of kicks.

High Performance Running Group Starts with a Kick
After running at various spots around West Seattle, the running group has moved to one location for the next round of training - the track. With it getting lighter earlier, the starting time was moved up to 8 am. This week the air was crisp and cool and dry as we descended on the Chief Sealth H.S. Track.
