On an overcast day, all of the West Seattle FT Trainers hit the deck for a 3 hour tour around Elliot Bay. Sailing on the S/V Danielle, the crew of Captain Rex, Stephanie, and Marissa instructed us on the finer points of sailing and team work. Each of us had a chance to learn the different positions on the sailboat from the helm, the tactician, the jib winch, and the main sail.
After some practice, our team was able to sucessfully maneuver around the crossing ferries, avoid the pirate ships, and make it back to dry land before the next storms hit. Despite the cool temperatures, everyone had a great time trying on new hats figuratively speaking and for real. Thanks to the crew for all their hospitality and patience that day. We all had a great time. Next up is the America's Cup for us; on second thought - we'll stick to training folks for the races!
