Welcome New Trainer - Rachel

While she has been with us for a few months, we did want to share a little bit of background on one of our new trainers - Rachel. She has worked at another Fitness Together location, so she stepped right in working with our clients. We are glad to have her easy going personalty on our team - don't let that fool you as you will still be making sweat angels. Welcome to the Team Rachel!

Here is a little background on Rachel in her own words. "I come from a very athletic background. I started at an early age playing every sport I could from basketball to soccer. I decided to pursue my passion for fitness and helping others by becoming a personal trainer. I love helping clients achieve their fitness goals; and providing them with the necessary tools and education to be successful for the long term. It's an amazing feeling as a trainer to be able to push and motivate clients to another level they didn't think was possible. I am certified through the National Federation of Personal Trainers. I am also CPR and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. I am currently training for my first marathon in June."

Just kickin' It

Ever wonder how trainers spend their time in a staff meeting? Here is a look inside their world.

We just like to kick back and rest before we have to push folks to new levels.

(Note the lacrosse balls under our calves - we are doing a little self torture for practice.)

New Morning Addition

Hiding behind that punching bag is our new special weapon - Dee. She has joined our training team and will be working with clients in the morning. Ask her about what it's like to fly like the wind?

Here is a little bit about Dee's background and training philosophy. "I received All-American honors for being third in the nation in the mile and fifth in the 1500 meters. While competing on an collegiate level I won two cross country championships as well as obtaining four university records.

Now my passion is to bring people the joy of reaching personal goals through fitness. Through my own endeavors, I have realized how powerful and important goals are when improving fitness. My target is helping others see their potential and get results through motivation, accountability, knowledge and experience. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Science and a CPR and AED certification from the American Red Cross."

Welcome to the team DEE!

New Team Member - Matt

We searched long and hard to find a new team member that meets our high standards to take care of our clients. The search took us across the Pacific ocean where we found Matt. Thankfully, he came to us, but he has his roots in Guam. So the next time you are in, ask him about his time in So. Cal. and learn about his small Pacific island. Matt will be working a mix of mornings and evenings, so he is anxious to get to know all of the clients. Welcome to the team Matt.

Here is a little bit about Matt's background and philosopy. "My passion for fitness started at a young age with the involvement of team sports such as baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, and track and field. I later discovered Rugby in High School and been playing since. I take what I’ve learned from all sports and their trainings and incorporate them into workouts for all ages and fitness levels. I believe that hard work, discipline, having a competitive drive, and being consistent are keys to success to reaching your fitness goals. I also believe that exercise should be fun, so I try to be as creative as possible when working out.

I hold a Kinesiology degree and a personal training certification through AFAA. I am also First Aid, CPR, and AED certified through American Heart Association. I try to take all the knowledge and experience from school and sports to help people reach their fitness goals, what ever it takes."

2 Year Anniversary Training - Duncan

I remember when Duncan walked in the door for his job interview at Fitness Together. Before he opened his mouth, I knew I had found my next trainer. Duncan has a presence about him that is positive, professional and genuine.

Duncan has worked for me for 2 years this month. His passion for fitness is undeniable. He has a vision for each and every client whom he works with, and aggressively guides them to reach their full potential. (whether they like it or not!)

Having a business background, Duncan has also helped take the studio to the next level. We have always reached our business goals since he has been the manager here. He knows the importance of working in a team atmosphere, systemizing and sacrificing for the greater good, Duncan’s loyalty and honorable service is remarkable!

Thank You Duncan for 2 awesome years!!

New Team Member - Gretchen

We have a new addition to the training team to share with everyone. Gretchen has joined the FT - West Seattle Team and will be working with all clients who schedule workouts on Saturdays. She brings a wealth of great experience to help all of our clients achieve their goals. So if you miss a workout during the week, remember we are open on Saturdays to make it up and you'll get a chance to work with Gretchen. Welcome to the Team!

Here is a little bit about her fitness background in her own words. "Fitness hasn't always been an important part of my life. A former couch potato/smoker/Twinkie eater, and a car accident that left me with a broken femur and a metal rod in it's place changed all of that. My limited mobility and exhaustion after each rehabilitation session made me realize the importance of being fit and healthy. Ten years later, I am an avid runner, strength trainer, and enjoy sharing my passion with others. I am a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) with a specialization in Pre and Post Natal Exercise."
